Our humble roots began in 1924 with Comact, a leader in wood processing products from Saint-Éphrem, Quebec. Over the years, the company carved an enviable worldwide reputation as the manufacturer of cutting-edge equipment for both hardwood and softwood mills.
Founded in 1983, BID Group, based in Prince George, BC, recognized the tremendous market potential of joining forces with Comact. The two industry pioneers merged in 2013 with one unwavering goal: to leverage their legacy of operational lifecycle excellence.
Today, Comact continues to be at the forefront of the wood processing industry, consistently driving productivity and empowering customers to achieve the very highest operational and business performance.
With multiple key locations to serve our global customer base, we provide top-quartile wood processing plants with complete, turnkey, vertically integrated and connected solutions to edge out their competitors—from engineering, project management, equipment, software, installation, start-up, and after-market parts and service.
