Established in 1973, Comact Equipment Inc., Chicoutimi Division,fabricates metal products and equipment for the industrial sector as per the customers' specifications, and designs and manufactures handling equipment for the lumber industry.

A large portion of the company’s business comes from the sawmill industry. Corporations such as Bowater, Canfor, Kruger, and many others in Canada and the United States have allowed us to develop a wide expertise in manufacturing lumber handling equipment. In the industrial sector, Hydro-Quebec and Alcan, just to name a few, have allowed us to acquire an excellent reputation by trusting us with many ambitious projects over the years.

Our commitment is clear. Our priorities reflect our reputation: the quality of our products and services, the know-how of our staff, the level of quality of our products and services, the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes as well as our efficiency in project management. The Chicoutimi division insures employment for a hundred workers at the manufacturing plant, generating revenues over 20 million dollars per year.

The company is led by a dynamic management team of industry professionals counting numerous years of experience. This team is supported by qualified professionals working in various departments such as engineering, estimation, accounting, administration, project management and manufacturing. Our workshops, equipped with state- of-the-art tools, as well as the expertise of our staff, allow us to manufacture high technology products, using our advanced continuous flow and pull system.

We have great experience in stainless steel and aluminum. Also our machining department is equipped with machine tools that can produce high precision parts and make large industrial equipment.
