Comact completed a turnkey project including a log infeed (with two Wave Feeder™ and gap control), one DDM6 with profiling tools and optimization, log and lumber handling, mechanical and electrical installation and the training of staff.

The line handles spruce/pine logs 6 to 17 feed in length and 3 to 8 inches in diameter at speeds of up to 600 FPM.

Start-up was excellent:  4,000 logs the first shift and 11,000 logs on the 4th.

On schedule, on budget !

Comact worked with New West Industries of Winfield on the mechanical, Westwood Electric of Vernon on the electrical supply and installation, and with CWA Engineering for detailed engineering.
 

 The project was completed, including start-up, with no interruption of the continuous (4 shift) operation of the mill.
